MINA
Mina started her career as a hairdresser at the age of 19 in her home country Iran.
With her passion for the profession, she continued working even with her young children and was always looking for learning opportunities with the experts in the field.
Soon after immigrating to Canada, Mina was able to pursue her passion for beauty collaborating with various hair salons and took any opportunity to update her skills. She attended various color master classes and beauty conferences and moved up the ladder.
She took over the current hair salon in 2010, rebranded and remodeled the longstanding hair salon from the previous owner and offered services to her previous and new clients.
Mina has been offering a wide range of services to her clients. She is a master colorist and specializes in color correction and thrives on helping clients with stubborn hair. Mina continues to update her knowledge through various workshops and classes on a regular basis. In addition, she has expertise in haircut, perm, updos, make up as well as permanent cosmetic make up.
Mina’s goal has always been creating a warm and welcoming environment for her clients, a place in which individuals can spend hours feeling comfortable, safe and admiring their beauty. Mina builds a unique relationship with each of her clients and cares about their well-being beyond the appearance and beauty. Countless stories, laughs and tears are shared between her and the clients. She goes above and beyond to ensure her clients are safe, comfortable and satisfied and most importantly, enjoy their time at Mina Hair Design.
When away from the salon, Mina spends time with her beloved furry baby Figo as well as her family. Mina is passionate about spending time outdoors and enjoys hosting her friends and family.
Mary
Mary has graduated from Blanche McDonald institution and has been working alongside the team at Mina Hair Design close to a decade. She excels in color and highlight techniques as well as cut/style and makeup. Mary adores her clients and is always enthusiastic in gaining client satisfaction. Mary’s hobbies and interest include singing and spending time with family and friends outside of work.
Katherine
I’ve been a hairdresser since 2007, following in my mother’s footsteps—she was a talented hairdresser too, and her love for the craft definitely inspired me. What I love most about this work is the chance to really connect with people. It’s amazing to see how much confidence a great haircut or color can bring to someone. I specialize in color correction and highlights, and I always strive to find what suits each person’s individual style. For me, it’s not just about making hair look good—it’s about helping people feel great about themselves, both inside and out.
Parastoo
Parastoo is a permanent makeup artist (Microblading and Contour) trained by the accredited well-known Phiacademy. She graduated from UBC as a registered nurse back in 2012 and has been practicing as a cardiac RN ever since. Alongside her rewarding career, Parastoo also decided to incorporate her passion for art in beauty. Her painting background, a decent understanding of color combination, precision in detail, as well as her healthcare experience give her just the right tools to create exceptional facial feature designs. In her free time, Parastoo works with a local theatre group as an actress and enjoys hiking the breath-taking mountains of the beautiful British Columbia.
